Are You Lonely? The Stars Hit The Public Garden

The Lonely Maiden made its way to the Boston Movie Mile today to shoot on the Public Garden. With a star studded cast of Morgan Freeman, William H. Macy and Christopher Walken, the comedy centers on three museum security guards who devise a plan to steal back the artworks to which they have become attached after they are transferred to another museum.

While grabbing a few photos about 100 years from the main cameras, I realized we were actually in part of the scene. All the people around me weren't vague Public Garden visitors. They were actual extras and part of the scene. Kudos to whoever was doing wardrobe because they blended into the winter scene perfectly.

Freeman is becoming quite the Bostonian actor appearing in at least four different Boston films (Glory, Amistad, Gone, Baby Gone, Lonely Maiden). Macy had a role in A Civil Action.

South Boston Sees Real Men Cry

Ethan Hawke's new movie rolled into South Boston this week. Filming started this past Monday on Real Men Cry in the M Street area in Southie. The gritty crime flick, written and directed by Southie native Brian Goodman, also stars Mark Ruffalo, and Amanda Peet.

Murphy's Law, Boston's latest filming hotspot (Gone Baby Gone) almost got involved in the flick serving as a place for the cast and crew to eat between takes. But apparently Murphy's was just under the size requirements.
