Dane Cook Day for New Boston Movie

In anticipation of the new Boston based My Best Friend’s Girl, today was officially proclaimed Dane Cook day in Boston. Cook, who grew up in Medford, Ma was on hand with his family for a ceremony at City Hall. Councilor John Tobin introduced Cook to the crowd who gave him a roaring applause.


Boston Movie Tours co-founder Rachel Coveney was also on hand to congratulate Cook on his success and welcome him on future tours.


My Best Friend’s Girl starring Cook, Alec Baldwin and Kate Hudson due out in theaters this Friday. The movie was filmed almost exclusively in the Boston area in the fall of 2007.


Another Boston connection: The Cars’ My Best Friend’s Girl is on the soundtrack. The Cars were significant contributors to the Boston rock scene back in the 1980s.
