New Kids coming back on the Block?!?!?

As a Hollywood in the Hub contributor, it is my job to find the hottest Boston entertainment news and gossip. I read a great deal of rumors and tabloid information, and it is getting to the point where the everyday info doesn't seem to surprise or overly interest me. However. every once in awhile I find something that even makes me go "Oh. My. God."

This is one of those times.

According to today's Boston Herald, "New Kids On The Block is making a comeback! A well-placed NKOTB source dished to People.com that Donnie Wahlberg, Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre and Danny Wood are indeed prepped for a reunion. And, it looks like their long-dormant Web site, www.nkotb.com, is back up and running, featuring a television graphic with fuzzy, flickering photos of the boys in their prime. The site’s resurrection is allegedly in anticipation of the ’90s boy band’s official announcement - which should come in a few weeks - according to People’s spy."

So, dust off those NKOTB pillow case sets I know you have and find your "Hangin' Tough" cassette single now. This could be big.

Keep checking back, you can bet your Danny Wood Barbie doll that I will be keeping you posted and up to date on this reunion. You've got it bloggers, the right stuff.

Boston Company makes "Untraceable"...well... traceable!

Boston area cybercrime prevention company DNSstuff.com is breaking onto the big screen this month! Sony Pictures has incorporated DNSstuff.com's tools and web management techniques into the movie as part of the crime solving process.

On January 25, Sony's Untraceable will hit theaters. According to the Internet Movie Database, the movie is about a secret service agent, Jennifer Marsh, played by DIANE LANE who gets caught in a very personal and deadly cat-and-mouse game with a serial killer.

The killer knows that people will log onto an "untraceable" website where he conducts violent and painful murders LIVE on the net. The more people who log on and enter the website, the quicker and more violently the victim dies.

When looking at the plot, it seems "UNTRACEABLE" also has a relevant and accurate message about today's society in two respects. First, our entertainment is becoming more and more focus on crime and evil. The movie seems like it will capitalize on our curiosity and interest in these scenarios. Also, like in the film, so many ill-willed internet users are searching for anonymity and false identities.

This action/suspense thriller definitely shows the importance for companies such as
DNSstuff.com and the dangers (though exaggerated in the film) that are really out there in cyberworld.

So... keep checking out this blog! It's fun AND safe! :)

The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past in Beantown

Talk about things coming full circle. In 2004, Ben Affleck was set to star in The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. The romantic comedy is about a bachelor who attends his younger brother’s wedding and is haunted by the ghosts of his past girlfriends. Image a little true life drama if J-Lo showed up at Casey’s wedding a few years back.

Enough digression. Fast forward to 2008. Affleck is back on track again with the movie…kind of. It's just another Affleck. Ben's wife Jennifer Garner is set to star with his original role going to Matthew McConaughey.

So where does Boston fit in? According to the Inside Track, New Line Cinema is in the Boston area scouting out filming locations including Wachusett Mountain. The movie is due out in 2009. Stay tuned.
