Tarantino hits P'Town!
This weekend, Provincetown hosted the 10th annual Provincetown Film Festival, and in keeping their own tradition, gave out the 10th annual "Filmmaker on the Edge award". In the past, names such as Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting) and John Waters (Hairspray) have been the honored recipients of this award, but this year it went to none other than Quentin Tarantino. According to Boston Herald, this was Tarantino's first trip to the Cape and loved it! To the Herald, he says "“It’s lovely here, I had no idea.”
As cool as this award is, this is not Tarantino's only Boston connection. After his very first film Reservior Dogs premiered at the Boston Film Festival in 1992, Boston University approached him about teaching a class on the French New Wave. Ironically, Quentin didn't even finish high school!
In honor of Tarantino's being at the festival, Provincetown screened the 1994 Tarantino hit, Pulp Fiction. Congrats, Quentin!
