Matt Damon on Entourage

I was listening to an interview this morning with always funny Jeremy Piven who let it out that the Boston connection on Entourage continues this Sunday. Boston area local Matt Damon will be making a cameo along with Lebron James.

Earlier this year, the Patriots Tom Brady appeared on an episode along with executive producer and Boston local Mark Wahlberg.

Check out this hilarious trailer below.

Boston Stars Top the Box Office

Well, kinda. The box office results for this past weekend have the animated Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs at #1... making Bruce Willis' movie Surrogates the top-earner of (not-animated) films this weekend! Way to go Bruce!

As I've written before, Surrogates was shot in Boston and takes place in a futuristic Boston. The action was good and the premise was unique. It was short enough and had some great moments.

Former Cheers' star Kelsey Grammar came in third this weekend at the box office with his latest role as Mr. Martin Cranston in Fame.

And next in line at this weekend's box office payday is hometown superstar Matt Damon and his movie The Informant.

Personally, I'm thrilled about the movies lined up for release this coming Friday. Inventions of Lying (filmed in Boston) is coming out. And I haven't been interested in a zombie movie since Shaun of the Dead, but Zombieland looks like an American-style version of it so I'll be checking it out. And I'll probably have to see Michael Moore's Capitalism:A Love Story, because I can't only watch comedies... though he does make me laugh. So it's a great time to go to the movies, soon it'll be holiday movie season and let's be honest, just like holiday music, they're the same every year.

A True Star Shines Everywhere

There are tons of stars in Hollywood.

Tons.

Boston is proud to boast that several of these stars are from the hub. But not all of them are there for the lights or the camera, but for the action. Locals Matt Damon of Good Will Hunting fame and Shooter's own Mark Wahlberg were sitting courtside to watch the Boston Celtics take on the Los Angeles Lakers. (little bro, Donnie Walhberg, was also in attendance, yet not sitting with Marky Mark. hmm?) Not only are these guys fantastic actors but they are die hard C's fans. That's how we breed them in Boston, and I could not be prouder to say that these Boston natives represented cross-country to cheer the Boston Three Party and the rest of our boys on.

It has been 22 years since the Celts have been able to call themselves NBA champions, and now they are just 4 quarters away from doing it again!

Other stars at the game included Jack Nicholson, Tom Arnold and Chris Tucker.

GO GREEN! BEAT LA!

Matt Damon recognized for Kicking Ass!

Here at Boston Movie Tours, we take pride in the number of Grammys, Oscars, Tonys, MTV Moon Men, and other prestigious awards bestowed upon the city's talent. However, this week, our fair city can be proud for a different kind of award. Personally, I think this makes me more proud than an Oscar. Hub native Matt Damon was awarded the “Biggest Ass Kicker” for his “Bourne Identity” series at the Guys Choice Awards (Sponsored by Spike TV).

Speaking of kicking some ass, Damon also issued some trash-talking towards the L.A. Lakers. Fans loudly booed during his Guys Choice Awards’ acceptance speech. Damon announced that the Celts will “categorically, positively, unequivocally, undeniably kick your ass (L.A.)!”) . . .

GO CELTS!!! BEAT L.A!

Kimmel's Retalliation

Not too long ago, Comedy Central's Sarah Silverman created a music video letting her boyfriend, Jimmy Kimmel know that she was *$@&^!%'ing Matt Damon.

Once he got over the bon-bons and cheesy romantic comedy movie phase, Kimmell retalliated with Damon's Boston best bud and Gone Baby Gone director, Ben Affleck. The all-star cast of A-listers he called on to help included Lance Bass, Cameron Diaz, Josh Groban, and Robin Williams, who starred with both Damon and Affleck in the award winning Good Will Hunting.

Here they are, making Boston proud.

Sarah Silverman's Matt Damon Song

In what could be one of the funniest videos by a celeb this year, comic Sarah Silverman sings a love song to Boston homey Matt Damon as a joke on her boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel. It's one of the most viewed videos on youtube with over 4 million views as of today.

Parental discretion advised as there are lots of bleeped out F words.

After you are done, check out Jimmy Kimmel's video response w Ben Affleck.

Stars are out for Gone Baby Gone Premiere

We were fortunate to see a sneak peak of Gone Baby Gone last week (SEE FULL REVIEW) with author Dennis Lehane introducing. But tonight was the OFFICIAL Boston premiere and the stars were out in full force along with just about every Boston media outlet.

Let me start out by saying these may be the WORST movie premiere pics you will ever see. That’s what happens when you leave your camera home and have to resort to a camera phone. If any of you have some good ones, please send them along to info@bostonmovietours.net.

First on the scene was Matt Damon, long time friend of Ben Affleck. After arriving in a SUV, he worked the red carpet (in reality, just a sidewalk) for 10 minutes or so. Lehane then made the rounds. But the big applause was saved for the last guests; star Casey Affleck and director Ben Affleck. Ben was there wife Jennifer Garner who looked spectacular.

Other actors in attendance: Robert Wahlberg, Amy Ryan, Matthew Maher, Trudi Goodman, Jay Giannone and others. Ben’s co-producer Sean Bailey was also on hand.

Mark Wahlberg - From Shooter to Boxer

Mark Wahlberg is certainly one busy Boston guy. After coming a bit short on the Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Departed, Walhberg is out promoting his new Shooter movie coming out this Friday. On his Jay Leno appearance last night, Mark said it was one of the toughest physical roles he’s ever had.

Walberg also let us know he is training hard for an upcoming Boston area boxing movie with Matt Damon called The Fighter. The movie is base on the true life story of ''Irish'' Micky Ward's rise to the lightweight title. According to Variety, filming is due to start this summer.

A Baby Meets The Departed

February 28th was a great day all around on a Boston Movie Tours front and on a personal side. First off, my wife and I gave birth to our 3rd child and future tour guide Katelyn. After traveling to the hospital at 7am, Katelyn was born about 12:45pm. All ten toes and fingers were in place.

TIME FOR THE DEPARTED INTERVIEW

After the birth, I quickly scurried over to South Boston for a live interview with Fox 25 to discuss The Departed filming locations. There is nothing like shooting a live spot on Broadway Southie at rush hour with all the honking cars :).

The funny thing is we had planned this on the 27th and had all kinds of backup interview plans in place (Thanks Jeff Kalligeri). But the timing worked out perfectly. In the spirit of Matt Damon’s text messaging skills in The Departed, Melanie from Fox 25 and I were in contact most of the day via text messages. She probably knew about the baby sooner than most of my family. Everything went pretty well for the interview and looks like we’ll be setting something else up in April. Then it was back to the hospital.

Media Blitz Monday on The Departed

My slow Monday going to the dentist turned into two different local news appearances highlighting local The Departed locations. “Can you be there in an hour?” was the first request. “If I don’t have any cavities.” I thought. Well, luckily the dentist gave me a clean bill of health and Boston Movie Tours was featured in two major news segments.
